First Aid Training
The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require employers to provide adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities and personnel to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. In the event of injury or sudden illness, failure to provide first aid could result in a casualty’s death. The employer should ensure that an employee who is injured or taken ill at work receives immediate attention.
BSM Training and Consultancy has established itself as a successful provider and facilitator of a wide range of training courses specific to the leisure industry. Are you looking to start a career in leisure? Or, is your business within the Leisure and Fitness sector? We can help find the right course for you and your career path. Training includes courses for anyone working in small or large swimming pools such as Lifesaving and pool plant. Other areas include Swimming Teacher courses and personal training course.
Health & Safety
The main piece of legislation in the United Kingdom that governs Health and Safety in the Workplace is the Health and Safety at Work Act of 1974. Often referred to as HASAW or HSW it places a duty on all employers “to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare at work” of all their employees. It is estimated by the Health and Safety Executive that there are around 728 prosecutions each year in the UK for non compliance with the HSW Act.
Fire Safety Training
Under the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 and the associated Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006 it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that their business remains compliant and that staff are adequately trained in fire evacuation procedures. Fire can be devastating to a business and to individuals. Prevention is the best action you can take. Learn how you can stay safe!
