Asbestos Training

Asbestos training is paramount to the health & safety of you and your employees. Whether it be asbestos awareness training or asbestos operative training, we are suitably placed to offer such services with our team of experienced asbestos professionals. Training yourself and your employees will ensure that anyone who is likely to encounter asbestos knows what asbestos is, where it can be found, the dangers of asbestos and how to protect themselves from accidental exposure. Most commonly, that includes builders, plumbers, electricians, carpenters and other building related and maintenance trades.

BSM Training and Consultancy offer three different categories of Asbestos training, these different levels are broken down below and depending on the nature of a person’s work will depend on what level of training they should undergo. Category A:

Training should be undertaken by any person who is at risk of disturbing asbestos during their day-to-day activities. This is crucial to learn the risks of this hazardous material, as well as being able to identify potential Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs) visually and where they may be hidden.

Category B:

Training teaches the methods of non-licensed asbestos removal. Non-licensed asbestos containing materials (ACMs) are bonded materials and are less likely to send fibres airborne than licensable asbestos materials. Many companies have their operatives and site teams trained to remove such ACMs that fall under the category of non-licensed removals, such as asbestos cement roof sheeting, thermoplastic floor tiles etc.

Category C:

Training specialises in training site operatives on the methods and removal techniques of licensable asbestos containing materials often referred to as (ACMs); such as thermal pipe insulation, asbestos insulating board ceiling tiles etc. Such training enforces the strict regulations set out by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) and educates on the safe and correct methods for removal of high-risk asbestos containing materials (ACMs).
