Fire Safety Training

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 in England and Wales, and Part 3 of the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005, supported by the Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006 are the main regulations in the UK that covers general fire safety.

Training is a fundamental part of keeping lives and businesses safe irrespective of sector. It matters not that you are a commercial company or work in the public sector or a member of the community. We all benefit from being more aware when it comes to fire.

BSM Training and Consultancy have training courses in general fire awareness that are suitable for anyone who wishes to be more fire savvy and more specific training for those who have a specific responsibility within their job role such as fire wardens.

Level 1: Award in Fire Safety Awareness (RQF)

The QA Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness (RQF) qualification is designed for those who want to increase their awareness of fire safety in the workplace. Over a half day period, Learners will learn basic fire safety principles including: causes of fires in the workplace, basic fire safety duties and responsibilities, principles of fire risk control, safe use of portable fire-fighting equipment and more.

Level 2: Award in Fire Safety Awareness (RQF)

The QA Level 2 Award in Fire Safety (RQF) qualification has been designed for anyone who has a specific responsibility for fire safety in the workplace, such as designated fire wardens/fire marshals. During this 1 day course, Learners will develop their knowledge and skills in fire safety, including: how fires are caused, the risks associated with fire, principles of fire safety management at work, understanding the role of a fire warden and more.

Fire Warden

This in-house half-day Fire Warden training course often referred to as Fire Marshal covers the role of the designated fire warden. You will learn about preventing fires, and about the different types of fire extinguisher and how to use them correctly. This course is suitable for those who are responsible for overseeing fire safety, designated fire marshals or anyone who has a specific responsibility for fire safety in the workplace.

Fire Evacuation Chair Training

As an employer you have a responsibility to ensure safe and efficient means of evacuation in the event of a fire. The Evac chair training course is a half day course giving delegates the skills and knowledge of how to safely operate this emergency piece of apparatus, ensuring that anyone needing assistance evacuating a building has safe and efficient means of doing so.
