The Automated External Defibrillator (AED) course is a 4hr course which aims to enable candidates to be confident and able to deliver the safe application of an automated external defibrillator (AED). It also teaches candidates safe and effective CPR techniques to buy time while awaiting the arrival of an AED.

Course Content:
This qualification covers:
- Basic life support
- Recovery Position
- CPR
- Choking
- Safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator
- Procedures for when Emergency Services arrive
- Basic AED maintenance
Assessment Criteria:
- Demonstrate CPR and safe use of an AED
- Demonstrate ability to administer first aid on a choking casualty
- Complete a multiple choice question paper with a pass mark of 14/20
